Many offer 3-views, but most are detailed studies of aircraft types and include photos and specification data. I have included sample pages and a more informative description of these works where possible. I hope this materials proves useful...

3-View Resources
The materials highlighted here include numerous 3-views and/or scale plans of aircraft. Many also offer in-depth information, color schemes, and aircraft history -- but the main emphasis is 3-views and "scale" plans. I have included sample pages and a more informative description of these works. Please note: some of these titles / items must be purchased. I have been unable to find very many of these available through libraries. Some are also commercial catalogs of vendors who offer plans and 3-views.

Recommended Magazines and Journals
Contemporary Serials List (1919-1939):
This is a listing of aviation journals actually published in 1919-1939. I have included both trade and enthusiasts publishings. Many of these have detailed views, 3-views, photos, and more. They are also a wonderful resource for unusual and one-of-a-kind aircraft for which little information is available today. Most of these magazines can be found in larger public and academic/research libraries.
Master List of Period Journals, Magazines, and Periodicals
Modern Serial Publications:
This is a listing of aviation journals which focus on aviation history, and usually feature articles on topics of the interwar years 1919-1939. While most of these do not offer 3-views or plans, they do offer photos (and in many cases color photos of restored and replica aircraft). These magazines are just a good resource to explore. Most of these magazines can be found in larger public and academic/research libraries.
American Aviation Historical Society Journal
Skyways: The Journal of the Airplane 1920-1940
VINTAGE Airplane: Magazine of the EAA Vintage Aircraft Association
Scale Modeling Publications:
This is a listing of magazines of interest to modelers. But these same magazines offer a wealth of information to virtual modelers as well. Many of these publications include aircraft histories, plans, 3-views, and more importantly -- photos of finished models which help greatly in painting and detailing virtual models. Many of these magazines are avaialble on newsstands and in public libraries. I will be discussing the usefulness of these resources in an upcoming article on this site.
